Ultravioleta DAO: From Twitch stream to Decentralized Community
More than a DAO or a token, Ultravioleta is a community-first experiment that grew from Twitch into a lasting presence across Avalanche and the broader Web3 ecosystem.
On March 30, 2022, most people tuning into a Twitch stream called cuchorapido thought they’d stumbled onto another crypto scammer. The streamer was talking about human consciousness, DAOs, and Web3, concepts that sounded more like science fiction than investment advice.
But Saúl Jaramillo wasn’t selling anything. He was sharing what he’d learned after a year working as a professional validator at Stake DAO, experiencing the wild early days of DeFi firsthand. And he had an idea: what if we could build a real DAO, live on stream, and let everyone watch it happen?
That stream became Ultravioleta DAO, now Latin America’s most active decentralized autonomous organization.
The Experiment Begins
From day one, Saul made an unusual decision: every dollar earned from Twitch subscriptions and bits would go directly into a community-controlled multisig wallet. No personal profit, no hidden treasuries. The audience would decide through polls how to spend the money.
It was a radical experiment in transparency, and it attracted exactly the kind of people who wanted to build something real. Datbo0i_, an early community member, became Jaramillo’s co-founder. The monologue transformed into a conversation. A community started to form.
Learning by Doing: The Birth of CRT
In 2022, the community created its first token, CRT (CuchoRapidoToken), as a live learning exercise. Nobody pretended it was perfect. The point was to understand how ERC-20 tokens actually worked by building one together on Polygon, where the community already had its multisig set up.
The token was distributed through airdrops to people who showed up to the streams. Voting evolved from Twitch polls to Snapshot for more formal governance. And then came the first “cyber meetups”, video call gatherings funded by the community treasury where members could connect, share ideas, and even order food together.
These small rituals mattered. They built trust. Eventually, cuchorapido earned Twitch Partner status, a milestone that recognized the community’s consistent engagement.
Going Physical: The Medellín Connection
2023 brought the first in-person gatherings in Bogotá and Medellín. Meeting face-to-face changed everything. When the community attended Avalanche’s first hackathon in Medellín, they caught the attention of CryptoChimba, who recognized something most people miss: genuine community engagement is rare in crypto.
The partnership led to ambitious collaborative projects:
These weren’t just marketing stunts. They demonstrated that Ultravioleta DAO could coordinate real action, both online and offline, supporting CryptoChimba’s work with the Avalanche Foundation.
The Strategic Migration to Avalanche
While CRT started on Polygon, the community soon recognized Avalanche’s technical advantages. The network offered faster transaction speeds, better stability, and a more active developer ecosystem. Having team members with existing Avalanche validator experience made the technical migration smoother, but the decision was fundamentally strategic: the community wanted to build on infrastructure that could scale with their ambitions.
Death and Rebirth: The UVT Era
On June 6, 2024, cuchorapido went dark. For 13 days, the community didn’t know what would happen next. Then, on June 19, Saúl returned with a complete rebrand: 0xultravioleta.
Everything migrated, treasury, governance systems, social accounts. CRT holders received a 1:1 airdrop of the new UVT token, minted live in front of 70 people. Initial liquidity went live on SushiSwap. The fresh start felt promising.
Then came July 6, 2024.
A badly deployed smart contract was exploited. $2,600 in liquidity vanished. In most crypto communities, this would trigger an immediate death spiral, everyone rushing for the exits.
But something unexpected happened: almost nobody sold.
The community had discovered what actually held them together. It wasn’t the token price. It was the people, the shared learning, the experiments. Within days, UVT v2 was deployed with a 1:1 distribution to all holders. What could have been an ending became proof that the foundation was solid.
Building in Public: The AI Agent Phase
For seven months after the exploit, the community shifted focus from liquidity to building. Two AI-powered projects emerged:
Abracadabra: A comprehensive platform that transforms Twitch streams into searchable, analyzable content using advanced AI. Five integrated modules handle everything from analytics to predictive intelligence.
Karma Hello: A revolutionary chat-to-earn system that evaluates message quality using AI agents and rewards participants with UVD tokens on Avalanche and USDC micropayments via x402 protocol on Base, creating a multi-chain economy for community participation.
402milly: The modern Million Dollar Homepage - a pixel marketplace where anyone can own internet history by purchasing $0.01 pixels with USDC micropayments via x402 protocol across 10+ blockchains, creating a multi-chain canvas for permanent digital real estate.
During this development period, 0xultravioleta achieved Twitch Partner status, the second time the community earned this recognition.
Becoming Part of Avalanche’s DNA
From the first day Avalanche launched its Ambassador DAO (now Team1), more than 20 Ultravioleta DAO members signed up as founding ambassadors. Each subsequent cohort brought more DAO members into T1. Ten members traveled to the Avalanche Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, strengthening the community’s connection to the broader ecosystem.
The relationship goes both ways: Ultravioleta DAO isn’t just using Avalanche, they’re actively building and validating on it. In early 2025, the DAO launched its first validator node on BEAM mainnet.
The Memecoin Laboratory
February 2025 brought something Ultravioleta DAO had never experienced: Avalanche’s memecoin season. While not the community’s traditional focus, the opportunity to learn was too valuable to ignore.
Members participated in presales and launches including KET, WINK, and BLUB. Some made significant profits. Others learned expensive lessons about volatility and timing. But everyone gained firsthand experience with a major crypto cultural phenomenon.
Beyond the financial outcomes, it was an emotional and psychological laboratory, a chance to understand risk, loss, and FOMO in a supported community context.
The SocialFi Leap: UVD on The Arena
In 2025, Ultravioleta DAO made another strategic move: migrating from UVT to UVD using The Arena’s launchpad, Avalanche’s SocialFi platform. The community collectively raised the required 10K USD bond through their multisig treasury.
The relaunch included tiered airdrops: 1:1 for all holders, and 1:2 for members who actively voted on the migration proposal, rewarding the most engaged community members.
Results came quickly. The token hit an all-time high of $22K in liquidity. But the real gains were elsewhere: international visibility within the Avalanche ecosystem and, more importantly, clarity about who was truly committed to the community’s mission.
Not everyone made it through the transition. Some members left. And that was okay, the experiment was never just about the token economics. It was about discovering what decentralized community actually means in practice.
Ultra Evento: When Digital Becomes Physical
On August 23, 2025, Hash House Club in Medellín became the venue for something special. Ultra Evento 2025 brought together over 144 attendees for a day of innovation, connection, and celebration. Merchandise covered the walls, t-shirts, stickers, flags. Sponsor logos appeared on cookies and food trays. Drinks flowed freely.
But the real energy came from the people: some reconnecting after months online, others meeting in person for the first time. Hugs, conversations, laughter. A dream that started in a Twitch stream now filled a physical space in Colombia’s innovation capital.
Twenty-five DAO members coordinated every detail, venue, DJ, merchandise, photography, logistics. The event generated remarkable social media impact:
4.3+ million views from just 10 posts on X
Average of 434K views per post (334x their follower base)
Six posts surpassed 600K views
The key to this virality? Ultravioleta DAO’s coordination model. Within minutes of each post going live, the community mobilized: likes, replies, reposts, quote tweets. When hundreds of engaged community members move together, algorithms notice.
The next day, DAO members gathered privately for an asado-rave where they signed a commemorative flag, marking the community’s legal registration as Ultravioleta DAO LLC in Wyoming (formalized September 26, 2025).
What the Numbers Show
As of late 2025, Ultravioleta DAO’s metrics tell a story of sustained engagement:
2,800+ hours of educational live streaming
$70K+ USDC in treasury activity over three years
199 governance proposals with 5,918 total votes
$3,139 USD in their Avalanche multisig
5,923 UVD token holders
106,423 token transactions
$6,597 USD backing UVD/AVAX liquidity
What Makes This Community Different
Most crypto communities form around tokens and dissolve when prices drop. Ultravioleta DAO has survived multiple token migrations, a major exploit, and numerous market cycles because it formed around something else: shared learning and public experimentation.
The community doesn’t pretend to have all the answers. They’re figuring things out in real-time, on stream, with full transparency. When something breaks, and things do break, they learn from it publicly and rebuild.
This approach has created something rare in Web3: a community where the social bonds are stronger than the financial incentives.
Looking Forward
The roadmap focuses on what the community does best: building in public.
The AI agents, Karma Hello and Abracadabra, are moving toward monetization. The goal isn’t just to create revenue, but to demonstrate how DAOs can fund themselves through actual products rather than token speculation.
Global expansion is underway, but not in the traditional sense. Ultravioleta DAO isn’t trying to “go viral” or pump token prices. They’re expanding by continuing to do what they’ve always done: stream, build, experiment, and let people discover them organically.
The Bigger Picture
Ultravioleta DAO represents an alternative model for how Web3 communities can form and sustain themselves. Rather than launching with massive marketing budgets and anonymous founders, they grew slowly through consistent public engagement. Rather than hiding failures, they learned from them transparently.
They’ve shown that decentralized governance can work for coordinating both digital and physical community activities, from managing treasuries to organizing international events.
Most importantly, they’ve demonstrated that in Web3, the real value isn’t in the token contract. It’s in the community that chooses to stay, even when they don’t have to.
