A major change is happening in the Indian tech landscape. Avalanche India is officially evolving into Team1 India, one of the fastest-growing official chapters of the global Team1 network.
This is a commitment to long-term, large-scale building.
What started in early 2024 as a small group of four has grown into a powerful network of 40+ active contributors. Our mission is straightforward: to ensure that India leads the global blockchain movement.

The Scale of the Movement
Since its inception, Team1 India has been a force for on-chain adoption. We have:
Onboarded 5,000 people directly on-chain to Avalanche
Hosted 100+ high-energy events spanning 15+ states and 50+ cities
Activated 30+ universities, building a bridge between academic research and real-world deployment
Through initiatives like the Team1 India Minigrant, we are already providing early-stage builders with the financial and technical fuel needed to move from a prototype to a market-ready product.
Beyond Code: The 7-City Hackathon Series
Proof of Team1 India’s potential was found in our recent 7-city hackathon series. We had over 3,500 applications, and the energy in these rooms was unlike anything we’d ever seen. These were 36-hour marathons in which first-time builders shipped real prototypes alongside experienced developers, testing bold new business models.
The top 15 teams advanced to a grand Demo Day in Goa, where they pitched their ideas and demonstrated that Indian builders are ready to challenge the status quo and build the next generation of the Avalanche ecosystem.
Our Strategy: Build the Future of Digital Infrastructure
India has a huge talent pool to develop, but what it needs is a better system.
Team1 India believes that blockchain tech is the infrastructure for the next generation of business. Our next phase focuses on structured builder programs to move projects from concept to thriving product through dedicated mentorship. We will train student developers on smart contracts, Avalanche SDKs, and custom L1 deployment and operation. As we train these students, we’re also activating our city connect initiatives to ensure builders have a local community to support them after the workshops end.
