The Avalanche Ambassador DAO, now known as Team1, has achieved a major milestone: securing a $1.15 million grant from the Avalanche Foundation to drive community growth and engagement over the next six months. This funding marks a significant step forward for Team1’s mission to expand and strengthen Avalanche's global presence.

What is Avalanche Team1?

Launched in April 2024, Avalanche Team1 is a global network of builders, developers, creatives, and community members working together to promote the Avalanche ecosystem. Acting as the bridge between Avalanche and communities worldwide, Team1 empowers individuals to host events, collaborate with institutions, and foster grassroots growth.

Key milestones since launch include:

1400 applications received in the first round of applications, with 190 ambassadors selected from 43 countries across five continents. In the second round which just closed, another 1400 applications were received with a further 240 ambassadors were selected to join.
Hosting an average of 25-30 events per month since May 2024.
Partnerships with 45+ universities worldwide, expanding Avalanche’s reach into educational communities.

Initially funded with $10,000 and later raising $110,000 through early-stage activities, Team1’s impressive momentum has now earned it the trust and support of the Avalanche Foundation.

How Will the $1.15 Million Grant Be Used?

The grant is structured around milestones to ensure impactful growth and will focus on scaling efforts in key areas:

Expanding Digital Activations: Increasing online engagement and virtual events to reach broader global audiences.
Strengthening Community Initiatives: Supporting ambassadors with resources to organize more frequent and larger-scale local events.
Driving Education and Collaboration: Enhancing partnerships with universities and developer communities to onboard new talent into the Avalanche ecosystem.

This funding represents an investment not only in Team1 but in the broader Avalanche ecosystem—helping build connections, foster education, and attract more builders and users worldwide.
