Pulsar has emerged as one of the most active games in the Web3 ecosystem. The game takes place in a planetary system that’s full of riches to collect, but also hostile aliens that roam the planets. Launched with a vision to blend the depth of Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games with the decentralized use of blockchain technology, Pulsar is quickly gaining traction in the space.
Since Pulsar’s official launch of their own L1 on Avalanche, the game has had over 173 million total transactions and currently averages between 1.5 million to 2 million transactions a day. With over 2 years in active playtesting and development, the team announced an upcoming $PLSR TGE on February 5th of this year.
Let’s dive further into what Pulsar is and how the game is changing the course of RTS’s.
Core Gameplay
Pulsar offers a multifaceted gameplay experience, appealing to both seasoned RTS players and newcomers alike. The team at Pulsar is working towards building a game that combines the mechanics of Starcraft, Dungeons like Diablo, MMO play style of World of WarCraft, and an economy similar to Eve Online. By creating a dynamic game with features from some of the most popular games to date, Pulsar is creating a game that allows gamers to tailor to their own playstyle.
Resource Collection: Players can gather resources like $PLSR, Biomatter, and Gas. These resources are pivotal for constructing bases, upgrading units, and expanding territories across the vast planet of WR-12.
Building and Upgrading: Construct and enhance units and buildings to optimize production and defense across the planet. Pulsar combines the
Combat: The game features both PvE and PvP elements. Players can raid dungeons across the map to gain access to more resources, fight aliens, and attack other player bases. There is also an active leaderboard for players that want to compete for bonus rewards.
Exploration: Pulsar's universe is expansive, encouraging players to explore new areas and systems. Each selected map has different difficulty levels and some areas can be more lucrative.
Web3 Integration
NFTs and Assets: Every asset in Pulsar, from ships to planets, is an NFT. Although the game is built on a custom Avalanche L1, players have the ability to trade assets cross-chain on multiple NFT marketplaces or buy assets using USD on Pulsar’s website.
$PLSR: The $PLSR token is central to Pulsar's economy, used for transactions within the game, governance voting, and as a reward for various in-game achievements like winning battles or exploring new territories.
Transactions: Many actions in the game are actual transactions within the blockchain without players even knowing. Basic actions such as completing resources, adding units from marketplaces, and converting resources are all transactions on Pulsars L1.
Staking and Governance: Players can stake $PLSR to gain governance rights, influencing the game’s development and future features, making Pulsar a truly player-driven ecosystem.
The Future of Pulsar
Pulsar is continuously evolving with exciting updates and features. The Pulsar team has hinted towards community-driven events, such as tournaments and charity initiatives tied to in-game achievements, alongside plans for collaborations with other Web3 projects to enable asset interoperability across platforms. The highly anticipated TGE for $PLSR has been officially scheduled for February 5th, marking a major milestone for the Pulsar ecosystem.
What sets Pulsar apart is its innovative approach to blending classic RTS gameplay with Web3 technology, creating a player-driven economy that redefines gaming.
