Avalanche Summit London – A Showcase of Top Games in Web3
From iconic IP to innovative PvP shooters, Avalanche Summit London spotlighted the best of on-chain gaming. Dive into the future of Web3 gameplay through immersive demos and expert panels.
Web3 gaming is surging all throughout the space, and Avalanche showcased why it’s a clear leader in the industry. Avalanche Summit London highlighted many different focuses in their developments, such as RWAs, defi, AI, institutional partnerships, and more, but one sector that stood out was gaming.
Through the three days of the convention at the England Hatfield House, Avalanche set up an area to game that allowed visitors to play a plethora of games building on chain.
The Games
There were eight PC games that people could explore:
One of the most iconic IPs in gaming, MaplestoryU is a 2D side-scrolling MMORPG with vibrant anime-style graphics, featuring customizable characters, cooperative gameplay, and a blockchain-based ecosystem in its MapleStory Universe expansion, emphasizing digital ownership and community-driven adventures.
Koroshi is an action-adventure game emphasizing fast-paced, skill-based combat. Players engage in dynamic battles using customizable, evolving NFTs that represent unique characters, weapons, and abilities, which can be upgraded through gameplay or traded on marketplaces. Koroshi blends competitive PvP and cooperative PvE modes, set in a visually striking, lore-rich universe inspired by cyberpunk and anime aesthetics.
Currently still in playtest phases, Off the Grid has one main game mode, extraction battle royale. Players dive into Teardrop Island where they can exchange cyberlimbs with unique abilities, collect hexes (in-game items), and compete for first place in their match.
BloodLoop is a fast-paced 5v5 hero shooter set in a dystopian future where players choose from a roster of 12 unique heroes, each with three distinct abilities, including a powerful ultimate, to engage in strategic, team-based third-person combat. The game has multiple modes, such as Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All.
Forgotten Playland is a social party game set in an abandoned attic transformed into a vibrant playground by plush toy characters called PlushKyns. The game currently has 20 different key modes to dive into for different types of party fun.
A fantasy RPG with retro 8-bit pixel art, Defi Kingdoms is a vibrant medieval world. Players collect and level up unique Hero characters, each with distinct stats, abilities, and classes, to embark on solo or party quests, engage in PvP battles, and explore the realm.
Gold Fever is a survival MMO set in a lush, treacherous jungle world where players compete in a high-stakes gold rush. It blends intense PvP and PvE gameplay, casting players as fortune hunters scavenging for gold and resources while battling rivals and hostile NPC tribes. The game features diverse character roles, from miners to mercenaries, with customizable gear and skills that shape strategic playstyles. Dynamic environments and real-time weather add unpredictability to exploration and combat.
Paradise Tycoon is a multiplayer life simulation and tycoon game set on a tranquil, uninhabited island. Players create unique avatars and build personalized paradises, gathering resources, crafting items, and decorating beach villas with extensive customization options. The game emphasizes social interaction, allowing players to collaborate with neighbors to create thriving communities, alongside activities like fishing, farming, and friendly competitions such as sailboat races.

Alongside physical gaming setups, Avalanche Summit also hosted multiple panels revolving around gaming:
There were many strong speakers and leaders in the gaming industry who spoke throughout the three days at the convention. Leaders such as Dominic Jang, CEO of Maplestory Universe, Theodore Agranat, Director of Web3 at Gunzilla Games, and many more held sessions highlighting the importance of Web3 in gaming. Other speakers, such as Giulio Xiloyannis, the co-founder of Pixelmon, explained why entertainment is shifting towards a Web3-catered world. Finally, the Summit also focused on AI and its importance to the future of gaming. Multiple founders from different studios such as Lightning Forge Games, Youmio, WARPChain, and Win Win, emphasizing how AI can be used to create personalized gameplay experiences.
