Avalanche Empowers AI Agents On-Chain
From Delaunch to emerging projects, see how Avalanche’s scalable and customizable blockchain ecosystem paves the way for AI agents.
Artificial intelligence and blockchain are two of the most exciting technologies shaping the future. Together, they’re opening doors to innovation we couldn’t have imagined a decade ago, and Avalanche is positioned to be a key player in this space. Whether it’s gaming, DeFi, or building autonomous decision-making systems, the possibilities are endless.
In this post, I’ll break down what makes AI agents unique, how they integrate with blockchain technology, and their potential for the Avalanche ecosystem. I’ll also share my hands-on experience building an AI agent using Delaunch, along with some standout AI projects on Avalanche that are worth watching.
What Are AI Agents, and Why Do They Work So Well with the Blockchain?
AI agents are autonomous systems that think, act, and make decisions independently. They go beyond what tools like ChatGPT or Claude do, as these agents can set their own goals, remember past actions, and even adapt over time. This makes them perfect for handling dynamic tasks and evolving alongside the needs of the ecosystems they operate in.
When paired with blockchain, AI agents unlock even more potential. Blockchain provides a secure, trustless environment for agents to execute tasks through smart contracts, manage digital assets, and engage seamlessly with decentralized applications. Here are just a few ways AI agents are reshaping Web3:
DeFi Portfolio Managers: AI agents can autonomously manage wallets, execute trades, or even stake tokens at just the right time. Imagine an agent tracking your portfolio 24/7 so you don’t have to.
Gaming Companions: An AI agent could act as a virtual sidekick that evolves alongside you, helping with strategies, supporting you in battles, or simply providing companionship. These agents can make gaming more personalized and immersive.
SocialFi Engagement: AI agents are also enhancing community experiences. For example, CoqAI, an X (formerly Twitter) and Arena-based AI agent, autonomously creates unique content and engages with the Coq Inu community.
Why Avalanche?
Avalanche is a natural fit for AI-driven applications. Its low transaction fees make high-frequency operations affordable, which is huge for constantly running AI agents. Add to that Avalanche’s speed, which means real-time tasks happen without a hitch. What really sets Avalanche apart, though, is the flexibility of its custom L1 capabilities. Developers can create custom blockchain environments fine-tuned for their AI use cases so performance is never compromised.
Beyond its technical strengths, the Avalanche Foundation actively supports developers with resources like InfraBUIDL, which offers funding and tools to accelerate innovation in AI and blockchain.
Building My First Avalanche AI Agent with Delaunch
I recently tested Delaunch's Playground and found it an impressively user-friendly platform, regardless of one’s AI experience level.
After connecting my Avalanche C-Chain wallet, I named my agent, selected an X (Twitter) profile as a blueprint for its personality, and added a brief personality description.
Once the basics were set, I fine-tuned my agent, adjusting its personality, traits, background, and knowledge. These fields shaped everything from its tone and skills to its backstory and areas of expertise, creating a well-rounded and purpose-driven digital assistant.
With my initial setup complete, I could either interact with the agent to fine-tune its behavior or jump right in and start using it right away. After a little fine-tuning, I asked it for some alpha on the Delaunch roadmap!
Lastly, I tried the Agentic Browser, a new feature still in beta that allows my agent to search the web and pull live data for its tasks.
For now, my Agent lives in the Delaunch Playground, but starting with Phase 2 of their roadmap, we’ll be able to launch them on-chain. I’m excited to continue using my agent and see how it evolves. Who knows, you may even see my agent on the timeline sometime soon…
Other Avalanche AI Projects to Watch
While the work Delaunch is doing in AI is exciting, they are far from the only project building AI on Avalanche. Here are a few others worth exploring:
COQAI: COQAI is trained on memes and cultural inputs, enabling it to generate unique, viral content and interact on platforms like X and the Arena. It’s a great example of how AI can further culture of the Coq Inu community.
Earnings Bay: Per some alpha on last week’s Avalanche AI Livestream, their agent will play a central role in an AI-focused DAO launchpad. The platform also explores DeFAI (Decentralized Finance AI) projects, bridging the gap between DeFi and AI. Beta testing is underway, with a full launch expected soon.
Looking Ahead
The intersection of AI and blockchain is still in its early days, but the potential is incredible. As Avalanche expands its infrastructure and support for AI developers, AI agents will play an even bigger role in gaming, finance, and beyond.
I’ve seen firsthand how powerful and accessible these tools are. Now, the only question is: What will your AI agent do on Avalanche?

By enabling AI agents on-chain, Avalanche is not just pushing the boundaries of automation—it’s setting a new standard for trust and scalability in decentralized systems. This fusion of AI and blockchain has the potential to transform industries by ensuring secure, transparent, and autonomous operations. Could this be the cornerstone for a future where intelligent decentralized applications redefine the way we interact with technology?
Clearly, AI agents have been taking center stage lately. This is just the beginning; it’s a very powerful tool that we need to understand deeply to make the most of it.
