Announcing Cascade: A Gateway to the Avalanche Ecosystem
Explore Avalanche through Cascade, a community-driven hub with 450+ projects, beginner guides, tools for Web3 natives, and content created by Team1 members worldwide.
Avalanche has grown into one of the most active blockchain ecosystems, with over 450 projects spanning DeFi, NFTs, gaming, infrastructure, and enterprise solutions. For people who already live and build here, keeping up with the pace of activity is part of the excitement.
Avalanche Cascade was developed by Avalanche Team1, led by core team members Armin, Sangeeth, and Luke, and supported with Team1 member-created content as a way to experience all of this in one place, a clear gateway into everything Avalanche has to offer.
What Cascade Brings Together
Cascade is a structured entry point into the Avalanche ecosystem, designed to meet people where they are:
New to Crypto: A guided path for absolute beginners that covers wallets, acquiring tokens, safety, and first steps in DeFi.
Web3 Natives: A direct route for experienced users to bridge assets, explore DEXs, and dive straight into Avalanche-native DeFi.
Developers: A home for builders with technical docs, dev tools, and support to launch new projects.
Enterprises: A space for institutions to understand how Avalanche is used in finance, tokenization, and large-scale applications.
These paths help people orient themselves quickly, while the rest of Cascade opens the door to deeper exploration.
The Ecosystem Map
The centerpiece of Cascade is the interactive ecosystem map, a living directory of more than 450 active projects. Projects are organized into 25 categories, from DeFi and gaming to infrastructure and DAOs. The map can be searched, filtered, and customized so people can shape their view of Avalanche.
Natives can star favorites, create custom maps, and share them with others. This feature turns discovery into something personal, making it easier to highlight the projects that matter most to different parts of the community.
The map also goes beyond simple listings. Many projects are paired with content created by Team1 members, including blogs, walkthroughs, and videos that explain how things work in practice. Instead of just reading about a project, people can watch a Team1 member break it down or follow along with a written guide. This makes the ecosystem map a directory and a library of lived experiences inside Avalanche.
Tools for Onboarding and Sharing
Cascade was built to make those first steps into blockchain feel approachable. The beginner flow introduces core ideas like setting up a wallet, acquiring tokens, joining the Avalanche community, and taking a first look at DeFi. Each part of the journey comes with practical guidance, safety reminders, and direct links to official tools so beginners can confidently move forward.
It is also designed for sharing. The site includes a simple link or QR code that works well at events, classrooms, or one-on-one conversations. Interactive elements like flashcards and quizzes add a hands-on way to reinforce learning, turning what could be a steep learning curve into a smoother path. Cascade gives newcomers a trusted place to begin while giving community members tools to guide others.
Community at the Center
Once someone has taken their first steps through Cascade, the next step is finding their place in the Avalanche community. Cascade makes this seamless by pointing to groups like Avalanche Team1, the Cookout Club, and Ultravioleta DAO. Each represents a different entry point: education and onboarding through Avalanche Team1, alpha and culture through the Cookout Club, and collective learning and experimentation through Ultravioleta DAO.
For longtime Avalanche users, this central hub is a way to keep track of the broader community and showcase new projects or conversations. For those just starting out, it is an immediate doorway into a welcoming network of builders, creators, and enthusiasts who are shaping what comes next.
A Platform That Will Keep Evolving
Just like the ecosystem itself, Cascade will keep growing. The ecosystem map will expand as new projects are launched. More guides, videos, and educational resources will be added over time. And as the Avalanche community creates new ways to use the platform, Cascade will reflect that ongoing movement.
