A Step Towards Global Decentralization: Team1’s Country Lead Pilot Program

Empowering local leaders across five countries to drive Avalanche’s mission of growth and effectively scale Team1 globally.

Earlier this month, Avalanche Team1 launched our Country Lead Pilot Program, a significant initiative to elevate regional leadership and scale Team1 globally. This three-month pilot, which began on December 1st, is designed to empower local leaders across five countries: India, Nigeria, Kenya, Turkey, and Colombia.

The Need for Local Leadership

To effectively scale Team1 and Avalanche globally, we need capable leadership at the regional level. With ambassadors spanning 51 countries and 5 continents, Team1 has already demonstrated its potential to grow the Avalanche ecosystem. Since its inception, the program has:

• Hosted over 150 community events

• Partnered with 45 universities

• Expanded into new regions like Africa, with Nigeria leading the charge through 19 events across 7 cities

While these efforts have been remarkable, sustainable growth requires local leadership to strengthen regional networks and enhance engagement.

What is the Country Lead Pilot Program?

The Country Lead Pilot Program is a hands-on initiative designed to define and test pivotal roles within Team1. It provides selected ambassadors with the responsibility to:

• Organize and support community events

• Integrate Avalanche into local universities and blockchain clubs

• Recruit and onboard quality ambassadors

• Grow local communication channels like Telegram and WhatsApp groups

• Report regional feedback and coordinate resources

By the end of February, the pilot aims to provide actionable insights for structuring future roles like Country Leads, Social Media Leads, University Relations Leads, and more.

The Vision for 2025 and Beyond

The Country Lead Pilot Program is just the beginning. Based on its results, Team1 plans to roll out a comprehensive strategy in 2025, including:

• Integration into 100 universities

• Hosting 150+ developer-focused events

• Building 10+ local communities in new regions

• Establishing a global network of ambassadors who can champion Avalanche’s vision online and offline

Ultimately once established, the long term vision for Team1 to transition into a fully community-run entity that empowers local leaders to drive innovation and engagement.
