Early registration tracked 50% faster than Cleveland’s pre-launch period.

Then came college sports. Uptop partnered with LSU Athletics to launch Geaux Rewards, a fan engagement program that unites fans across all LSU Athletics programs, rewarding their engagement with points redeemable for exclusive prizes and experiences. While most of the crypto conversation revolves around prices and narratives, something far more consequential has been taking shape on Avalanche. Banks, asset managers, governments, and payment processors are deploying live financial infrastructure on the network. These are production systems processing real capital at scale.

Japan’s largest tokenization platform has committed over $2 billion in assets to Avalanche infrastructure. Wyoming issued the first publicly purchasable state-backed stablecoin in U.S. history. Two regulated investment products tracking AVAX are now trading on Nasdaq. The institutional era for Avalanche has arrived.

Payments, FX, and Stablecoins

One of the clearest signs of institutional seriousness is where real money moves first: payments and foreign exchange.

Nonco, backed by VanEck, launched the first institutional-grade FX trading protocol on Avalanche, connecting traditional liquidity providers with on-chain users through a request-for-quote model. The platform already serves over 350 institutional counterparts including U.S. ETFs, liquid funds, and global payment processors.

On the stablecoin front, Wyoming made history on January 7, 2026, launching the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), the first U.S. state-issued stablecoin available for public retail purchase. FRNT is fully collateralized at 102%, backed by U.S. dollars and short-term Treasuries, with reserves managed by Franklin Templeton. Avalanche is one of the seven networks where FRNT operates, with Rain, a Visa-powered payment platform, handling access on-chain. Wyoming is directing the net reserve interest income to the state’s School Foundation Program, turning blockchain infrastructure into a public revenue stream. North Dakota has already announced plans for its own stablecoin initiative off the back of FRNT’s launch.

Visa also expanded its stablecoin settlement platform to support Avalanche-based stablecoins, plugging blockchain settlement into infrastructure that processes 65,000 transactions per second globally. Elsewhere, BDACS and Woori Bank launched a Korean won-backed stablecoin (KRW1) on Avalanche, while TIS Inc., Japan’s largest credit card processor, deployed a multi-token platform supporting stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and digital securities.

In February 2026, FinChain, the Web3 arm of Fosun Wealth Holdings, launched FUSD on Avalanche’s C-Chain, marking Asia’s first yield-bearing real-world-asset-backed stablecoin. FUSD passes through native yield from underlying reserves held at institutions including BNY Mellon and ChinaAMC. Avalanche was selected for its sub-second finality, DeFi liquidity infrastructure, and compliance tooling suited to permissioned institutional access.

Tokenized Treasuries and Fund Infrastructure

BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, built with Securitize, now holds over $2.8 billion in tokenized U.S. Treasuries and has become the first institutional tokenized fund to integrate directly with DeFi, through Euler Finance on Avalanche. Investors can use tokenized treasuries as collateral for on-chain lending.

Franklin Templeton’s BENJI, VanEck’s VBILL, WisdomTree’s tokenized funds, and Wellington and Libeara’s ULTRA are all live on Avalanche, giving institutions a range of regulated, on-chain treasury and liquidity management options. OpenTrade has layered on top of this infrastructure, enabling neobanks to offer stablecoin yield products backed by money market funds, ETFs, and private credit.

Credit, Structured Finance, and Real Assets

Apollo Global Management, with $671 billion in AUM, launched its Apollo Diversified Credit Securitize Fund (ACRED) on Avalanche, offering tokenized access to Apollo’s credit strategies with T+0 settlement. KKR, ParaFi Capital, and SkyBridge Capital have similarly tokenized portions of major investment funds on the network.

In the structured finance space, Intain operates a tokenized mortgage-backed securities and asset-backed securities platform on a custom Avalanche L1. By tokenizing the securitization process, deal sizes can reach viability at $10 to $50 million rather than the traditional $500 million minimum. Transaction costs drop from 3 to 5 percent to 1 to 2 percent of deal size, and settlement happens in seconds. Intain partnered with FIS to launch the Digital Liquidity Gateway, supporting loan trading and securitization for approximately 2,000 U.S. regional and community banks.

On the real estate side, Homium launched tokenized home equity loans, Republic issued a tokenized profit-sharing note with over $30 million in subscriptions, and Balcony is digitizing more than 370,000 property records in Bergen County, New Jersey, representing roughly $240 billion in real estate value. Dinari launched a custom Avalanche L1 for tokenized U.S. public equities with 24/7 trading, fractional shares, and instant settlement.

Progmat’s $2 Billion Migration: Japan Goes On-Chain

The most significant institutional announcement of early 2026 came from Japan. On February 26, Progmat, Japan’s largest security token platform backed by major megabank groups, announced a full migration of its platform from Corda5 to a dedicated Avalanche L1 deployed via AvaCloud.

The migration covers assets totaling over ¥439.6 billion (~$2.8 billion), making it one of the largest tokenized asset migrations in Asia’s financial history. Progmat accounts for approximately 63 percent of cumulative security token issuance volume in Japan and 53.8 percent of total projects nationwide. Full migration is expected by the end of June 2026.

The rationale for choosing Avalanche comes down to three things: a sovereign, compliant environment with its own governance rules through a dedicated L1, EVM compatibility that opens Japanese digital securities to foreign institutional investors for the first time, and sub-second finality enabling near-instant settlement.

Alongside the migration, Progmat is commercializing cross-chain settlement through Project Keystone, enabling Delivery versus Payment settlement between security tokens and stablecoins across Japan, the United States, Europe, and South Korea. Japan’s digital securities market is projected to exceed $7 billion by the end of 2026, and Progmat’s move positions Avalanche as the primary infrastructure layer for that growth.

AVAX Enters Regulated Markets

The first quarter of 2026 brought Avalanche’s native token its first U.S.-listed exchange-traded products, a milestone previously achieved only by Bitcoin and Ethereum among smart contract platforms.

On January 26, VanEck launched VAVX on Nasdaq, the first U.S.-listed ETP providing direct exposure to AVAX with potential staking rewards included. On March 12, Grayscale launched GAVA on Nasdaq, a staking ETF offering combined price exposure and staking yield (averaging 7.36% annually in 2025) through a regulated structure that requires no direct token custody.

VAVX and GAVA together create a regulated pathway for pension funds, asset managers, and registered investment advisors to access Avalanche without needing on-chain infrastructure.

Team1 is a global community program built to support the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem. It brings together developers, community leaders, content creators, and Web3 enthusiasts to expand Avalanche’s reach through grassroots work.

Today, Team1 operates in 30 countries. Each runs events, educates developers, creates content, and collaborates on ecosystem projects designed to strengthen local communities by connecting them to global opportunities. These regional chapters are focused on eliminating speculation and shipping real products.

Two Years of Laying the Foundation

Prior to becoming an official Team1 chapter, Team1 Türkiye was already onboarding talent into the Avalanche ecosystem. We organized 35+ events across different cities, bringing together developers, students, and Web3 enjoyers at community meetups, workshops, Build Games events, and conference side events. For many developers and students, these events served as the first real introduction to building on Avalanche. And for some, they represented the starting point for projects that are still growing.

We also built meaningful relationships across the Turkish blockchain landscape. Collaborations with Chainlink TR, Bitget, OKX TR, Pangolin, ParibuHub, Garanti BBVA Kripto, Misyon Bank, Dexalot, and Kast Card helped to expand the community’s reach and connect builders to the broader ecosystem. This is in addition to our relationships with local communities such as Koza DAO, Blokverse, and Dogu Blockchain.

AVAX Bingo is a prediction game running on the Avalanche blockchain. Players build bingo cards made up of forecasts about the Avalanche ecosystem, then earn points as those predictions are resolved by game administrators. The highest-scoring cards at the end of each game receive a share of the prize pool. The game went live on March 31, 2025.

How It Works

Each bingo card is a 5x5 grid filled with 25 predictions chosen by the player. Predictions cover topics in the Avalanche ecosystem like AVAX price movements, Avalanche network milestones, Ava Labs announcements, and social media moments. Once a card is minted as an NFT on Avalanche, the predictions and their positions on the grid are permanently stored and cannot be changed.

As real-world events happen, designated game administrators resolve predictions on-chain and attach proof links as evidence. Every card containing a resolved prediction earns the points associated with it. Cards are ranked on a leaderboard by total score, and prizes are distributed based on final rankings.

How to Play

While minting for Season 1 has ended, the process below shows how the game works and may be useful if future seasons are introduced.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
Visit avaxbingo.com and connect an Avalanche-compatible wallet.

Step 2: Browse Predictions
Go to the Mint page and browse the available prediction pool. Predictions span five categories: Price, Ecosystem, Social, Meta, and AvaLabs. Each prediction is labelled with a difficulty rating and a point value.

Step 3: Build Your Card
Select 25 predictions and arrange them on the 5x5 grid. The arrangement matters because it determines which bingo lines are possible. Players can drag predictions into any position they choose.

Step 4: Mint
Once all 25 slots are filled, submit a single transaction to mint your card as an NFT. The mint fee goes into the game’s prize pool. Cards cannot be edited after minting, though players can mint additional cards with different selections.

Step 5: Follow Along
After minting, watch the Prediction Tracker as events are resolved. Each resolved prediction your card contains adds to your score. The leaderboard updates dynamically as results come in, making it easy to track your standing against other players.

Step 6: Claim Rewards
When the game ends, players who place within a payout tier can claim their AVAX directly from the Claim Rewards page. Funds are paid directly to the winner’s wallet with no intermediary. If a game is cancelled, all funds are refunded.

Scoring

A card’s total score has two components: a base score and a bingo bonus.

The base score is the sum of point values from all resolved predictions on the card. Difficulty tiers are Easy (1 point), Medium (2 to 3 points), and Hard (4 to 5 points).

The bingo bonus applies when all five predictions in a line (row, column, or diagonal) are resolved. That line’s points are then multiplied by the game’s bingo multiplier. Each card has 12 possible bingo lines: 5 rows, 5 columns, and 2 diagonals. If a square is part of multiple completed lines, it is only multiplied once.

How Predictions Are Judged

Prediction resolution is handled by game administrators, but the team has also appointed a panel of five community judges to handle edge cases or disputed outcomes. If the community disagrees on whether a prediction has been fulfilled, the judges step in to make the call. A contested prediction requires 3 out of 5 judges to approve it before it is resolved.

The judges for Season 1 are ExcelBaller, Smitty, Wrathtank, giga-alpha, and voh. If a prediction involves one of the sitting judges, giraffe steps in as a replacement to avoid any conflict of interest.

Season 1 Prize Pool

Season 1 runs from April 4 to June 24, 2025. Two sponsors, @bears_salmon and @AvaxTeam1 have each contributed $2,500 worth of AVAX to the prize pool, with 100% of those contributions going to players.

With 181 cards minted, the prize pool currently stands at 1288.00 AVAX.

With payouts extending to the top 100 out of 181 cards, more than half of all participants are currently in line to receive rewards. This distribution makes the game less top-heavy than typical prediction contests, where only a small number of winners capture most of the upside.

The AVAX Bingo mint is officially over, and the game is now live. From this point onward, any predictions that are completed through June 24 will count toward the final scores.

While this is Season 1, the structure of the game suggests clear potential for future seasons if participation and engagement remain strong.

Here’s a full rundown on everything that made March a global expansion month for Avalanche.

March marked Team1’s most aggressive expansion yet. The global network of builders, developers, creatives, gamers, and dedicated Avalanche supporters expanded rapidly, with the official launch of three new chapters: Team1 India, Team1 Vietnam, and Team1 USA. Regional leads and members poured consistent effort into planning and execution, creating meaningful spaces for connection and collaboration across continents.

In March, they had a vibrant community meetup in Izmir, Turkey. Local founders, startups, and Avalanche enthusiasts gathered to share ideas and explore ecosystem opportunities. The energy from those conversations flowed directly into upcoming collaborations with partners like Bitget Turkey and KAST.

In Vietnam, the network officially welcomed Team1VN and hosted a lively community meetup. The momentum continued the following day with the Builders Cup football tournament.

In the United States, Team1USA hosted their first major meetup in Los Angeles alongside OKX. The team also supported the Penn Blockchain Conference Builder Night in Philly, further expanding the US presence. The turnout and energy showed how quickly a solid home for builders and the community is taking shape stateside.

In Asia, the Team1 AI Connect event in Shanghai united AI entrepreneurs, investors, and developers in partnership with Fudan University and AWS. The first Global AI Hackathon was announced.

Builder momentum stayed strong in Thailand with the first Builder and Developer Workshop in Bangkok, organized together with THBUIDL. This launched a series of hands-on workshops all leading up to a demo day where participants will showcase what they created on Avalanche.

Animoca Brands has made a strategic investment in AVAX and entered into a partnership with Ava Labs to support the growth of the Avalanche ecosystem.

Crypto has always thrived in real life, from small meetups to packed community gatherings and IRL events that bring together crypto natives and newcomers alike. People show up to learn, network and connect with like minds and discuss the Web3 space.

For the past three years, Team1 has helped create those moments. Through meetups and community gatherings, they have introduced people to Avalanche, answered questions, and built genuine connections around the globe.

Avalanche PlayEngine was born as an experimental initiative from Team1 to facilitate campaigns that extend beyond a few days. Instead, these ongoing initiatives continuously onboard new members within a specific region.

What is Avalanche PlayEngine?

Avalanche PlayEngine is a first-of-its-kind fantasy football competition that takes place at The University Of Ilorin, North Central, Nigeria. It brings together a lively community of football lovers and curious minds from all around the campus to explore Avalanche. It makes use of Core Wallet as the main channel to receive rewards on AVAX.

The campaign runs in seasons, with each season lasting a semester (approximately four months). It makes use of one of the most popular IRL football leagues on campus, and throughout the tournament, users gather at every match to watch and participate in the fantasy contest for a chance to win cash prizes.

The Back Story

It all started way back at the start of 2025, when the Adoption movement was in full swing.

Members of the Avalanche Nigeria community (Team1NG) kicked off their campus tour with a stop at the University of Ilorin. The visit helped introduce and amplify the early ideas behind the campaign, becoming the spark that set everything in motion.

A fantasy football competition was built around one of the most popular leagues within the campus. This brought together football fans across campus who signed up, downloaded Core Wallet, participated in the game and started to win cash prizes on AVAX over the weeks that followed. The campaign grew into a community of 600 plus members while retaining 300 plus active users participating in the fantasy competition.

With the growing community came a series of mini events and experiments that helped drive the adoption of Avalanche and showcase what’s possible. One notable example was a set of partnerships with six local campus businesses, where physical collectible cards were introduced as a way for about 120 participating consumers to redeem items from participating stores. This experiment quickly went viral across campus and drew attention from students and businesses alike. It served as an early step toward fostering onchain interactions between businesses and consumers, easing people into the concept by starting with something tangible before gradually moving toward digital experiences.

The campaign concluded with a grand final which brought the community members together to celebrate the conclusion of the league, fantasy and overall success of the campaign.

You can also see a 2D representation of your selected squad by switching the view toggle, this helps you analyse, share and perfect your selections before the games kick off.

It is important to select your squad before the deadline. The deadline is usually a few hours before the game kicks off and it’s actively communicated across the socials.

Engagement and Rewards

With your registration complete and your squad locked in, you’re officially ready to transition from the digital leaderboard to the stadium stands.

On match days, you have full access to attend the games in real life at the university stadium which is open to everyone. You get to watch all the matches and see the performances of various players including the ones you selected in your squad in real-time.

The matches are engaging, with plenty of opportunities to network, ask questions, and connect with the community.

The Impact

A strong indicator of a successful campaign is the reaction that follows after it ends. After the conclusion of the four-month long campaign, PlayEngine still has a huge and active community behind it. The community started to ask: When is the next thing? When is the next league? When are the next restaurant collectibles coming?

What started as a simple Team1 meetup had grown into something much bigger. A play-to-earn fantasy football league followed, the restaurant collectibles experiment went viral across campus, and a series of other activities kept the community engaged along the way. By the time the grand final arrived, the campaign had built a lot of momentum and popularity. With that level of engagement, it was inevitable that interest grew and people were ready for the next thing.

In light of this, Avalanche PlayEngine was renewed for a second season with as much excitement and more rewards this time. Every aspect of the campaign was improved, the website was upgraded, new merchandise drops were introduced across campus, and relationships with previously partnered local businesses continued to grow.

Season 2 quickly proved the momentum was real. PlayEngine tripled its user base, reaching over 1,000 registered users and averaging around 730 active participants in the fantasy contest each week. What began as an experiment in long-form community onboarding has evolved into a thriving campus ecosystem, one that continues to introduce new users to Avalanche through something they already love.
